Authorities in the UAE have warned that doing the Kiki dance challenge could land you a Dhs2,000 fine and 23 black points.
If you’re not familiar with the viral dance challenge, allow us to explain. The Kiki Challenge (also referred to as the In My Feelings Challenge) is a dance move inspired by Canadian singer Drake’s catchy new track ‘In My Feelings’. The move involves a person jumping out of a slowly moving car and dance in sync as it moves, while being filmed.
Several celebrities have taken to social media to post videos of themselves doing various versions of the dance, including Will Smith and Dua Lipa.
However attempting it in the UAE violates several Federal Traffic Laws, including driving a vehicle in a dangerous manner, blocking traffic and using a mobile phone while driving.
As per the Federal Traffic Law, driving in a dangerous manner comes with up to a Dhs2,000 fine and 23 black points. Driving a vehicle in a way that could endanger others can also have your car impounded for 60 days.
According to Gulf News, the Public Prosecution in Abu Dhabi have ordered the arrest of three social media influencers for taking part in the challenge.
