Movie nights, pool days, dinner deals and secret bars…

Whether it’s a pool day that includes two free drinks, a ladies’ night for Dhs145 that offers dinner and unlimited drinks or a discounted staycay at a stunning resort, we’re bringing you some great deals across the city this week.

Here are eight things to do in Dubai this week.

2. Check out a new film at a swanky cinema

On the run from deadly assassins, the duo hot-foot it to Europe, hatching a plan to save the world while they’re at it. Head to ThEATre by Rhodes to check it out, and for Dhs265 you’ll get a movie ticket, three course meal, mocktail and hot drink.

3. See a hip-hop star at Cirque Le Soir

Hip-hop star Wash is in town for a live performance at circus-themed club Cirque Le Soir this Monday. The free-entry gig kicks off from 11pm, and will be coupled with impromptu performances from Cirque Le Soir’s daring run of performers, from fire breathers to sword swallowers.

5. Cool off with a pool day and drinks

Riva Beach on The Palm isn’t the easiest to find, but it’s worth it when you get there. There’s a large pool that opens out with views onto The Palm, and a large patch of white sandy beach for those who prefer the ocean to the pool. Over summer, entry has been reduced to Dhs105, and comes with two free drinks included.

Riva Beach Building 8, The Shoreline, Palm Jumeirah, daily 7am to 12am, Dhs105. Tel: (04) 430 9466.

6. Head to a hidden bar

Part of the recent The Promenade development, Seventy Seventy is easy to miss while you’re admiring the stunning views across the Dubai Creek from the strip of Park Hyatt bars and restaurants. But you shouldn’t overlook it, the aptly named bar is kitted out in full seventies gear, and serves up an extensive list of signature cocktails as well as a top menu of bar bites.

Seventy Seventy, The Promenade, Park Hyatt, Dubai Creek, daily 5pm to 2am. Tel: (04) 602 1814.

Wednesday August 8

7. See the city for less

Dubai Metro and Burj Khalifa have teamed up to make it super simple for you to save half the price of a regular admission ticket to the At The Top viewing deck on the iconic tower. All you need to do is visit a participating Dubai Metro station (see below) to collect a voucher that entitles you to the discount, and present it along with your Emirates ID at the Burj Khalifa ticketing office at Dubai Mall.

At The Top, Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai, daily 9am to late, valid until September, Dhs75.

8. Start the weekend early with a discounted desert staycay

Another resort around just shy of an hour from the centre of Dubai, Bab Al Shams is all about stripped back Arabian luxury. One of Dubai’s best known spots for a luxury staycation, Summer is a great time to check it out – as they’re currently offering discounted rates from Dhs550 and 50 per cent off food and drink.  There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area from nature walks to camel rides, but don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore the resort itself. The tranquil spa is a great place to relax, or head to dinner where you’ll be entertained by belly dancers, tanoura dancers and horse displays.
