Who fancies walking among the skyscrapers at 200 metres high?

Adrenaline junkies, this one’s for you: A new Dubai attraction is set to open soon, and it’ll allow you to walk around a skyscraper an eye-watering 200 metres in the sky.

First announced in 2017, the new attraction is called Sky Walk, and will take shape at the soon-to-open Address Sky View hotel in Downtown Dubai.

While we’ve heard little about the jaw-dropping new attraction since it’s announcement in September 2017, it’s been confirmed to What’s On that the breathtaking Sky Walk is still going ahead. Although no opening date has been given, the hotel is accepting reservations from November 1. So, we could be scaling the new Downtown skyscraper before the year is out.

How does it work?

Well, according to the information provided at the time of announcement, the experience takes place while suspended on the 53rd floor of the Address Sky View hotel. Visitors will be strapped into a safety harness and taken up to the observation corridor at 200 metres high – where they will proceed to walk outside the building, on a 30-metre-long cantilever. So, this one probably isn’t for those with vertigo…

“Appealing to adventure seekers, Sky Walk will add to the touristic appeal of the city and offer visitors a never-before experience,” said Mohamed Alabbar, chairman of Emaar Properties in September 2017.

While many details are still being kept under wraps, one thing is for sure – it will boast spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Fountain and the Downtown skyline.

Sky Walk will be found on the sky bridge that links the Sky View towers. The two-tower building is split between residences and an 169-key, five star hotel, and offers prime Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai views from its location on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard.
