6 of the best things to do in Dubai this week
A new exhibition, a way to give back and unlimited sushi…
Welcome to the start of a brand new week. There’s plenty happening across Dubai, from new art exhibitions, afternoon tea and more. Have a great week.
Here’s six things to do in Dubai this week.
Sunday September 13
1. Check out a new exhibition
Titled ‘Summer Mix’, a new exhibition at Opera Gallery features creations from emerging and highly recognised international contemporary artists. Standouts are the metal sculptors created by Xavier Mascaro, an artist hailing from Spain. Though a graduate in painting, Mascaro shifted his focus to sculptures progressing slowly from using bronze and tin as his medium to iron. His work focuses largely on motifs, depictions of animals, armours and more.
Opera Gallery Dubai, DIFC, Gate Village Building 3, Dubai, open Sun to Wed 10am to 10pm, Thur 10am to midnight, Fri 2pm to 9pm and Sat 11am to 9pm. Tel: (04) 323 0909. operagallery.com
Monday September 14
2. Treat yourself to a spot of afternoon tea
Mandarin Oriental Jumeira has launched a new afternoon tea at its stunning Noor Lounge. It costs Dhs255 for two – that’s just Dhs128 per person and runs every day from 2pm to 6pm. Your delicate bites are served on a unique stand mimicking the canopy of lights and can be paired with a selection of coffees, teas and more.

It always feels good to give back and this week burger joint Pickl JLT is treating its Deliveroo drivers. For every Pickl JLT order between 5pm and 7pm on September 14 or 15, the driver will also receive a meal as a token of thanks for all of their hard work. For each order, the driver will be given a Pickl voucher for a free meal.

Every Wednesday at KYO, guests can indulge in an all-you-can-eat sushi feast. For just Dhs115 per person, you can enjoy three hours of unlimited sushi between 7pm and 10pm. Plates include truffle sea bass nigiri, spicy tuna uramaki and avocado and hosomaki eel maki.
