Time to hit the waterslides!

Picking out your gear for the Dubai Fitness Challenge this year? Add ‘swimwear’ your list as the Dubai Sports Council has just announced the addition of a new family-friendly event to the sports calendar: the Aqua Challenge.

Taking place on October 31 which is the second day of Dubai Fitness Challenge 2020, sports enthusiasts are invited to a splash-tastic filled day at the AquaFun Waterpark in JBR. Bring the sunscreen, but don’t worry about getting too sunburnt as the event starts at 3pm in the evening.

The fun and entertaining obstacles course include a total of 35 inflatable obstacle courses that will be spread across the massive 50,000 square feet AquaFun Waterpark. The obstacles course will be arranged in the shape of ‘I Love Dubai’. Wonder if we can get our drones along for a cool ariel shot…

Excited? You better be quick to register as only a maximum of 150 people will be able to slip, slide and make a splash at the event. Head here to register.

The challenge is open to men and women aged 16 to 60 and they can register as ‘individuals’ under the male or female category for Dhs157.50. Round-up a team of three (the fastest in your group) and apply as a mixed team for Dhs393.75.

While the day sounds fun enough as is, there are also valuable prizes on offer for the podium finishers. All participants will receive a certificate and a medal.

The event is keeping in mind strict social distancing rules and no more than three people will be allowed to start in every wave, with a 60-second distance between every wave of participants.

Additionally, there will be temperature checks at entry points and face masks are mandatory for all before getting on the obstacle racecourse.

Each participant will be given a life jacket, but don’t forget to carry your own towel and a change of clothes.
