The Instagram sensation has been back in the kitchen at his two restaurants…

Unless you’ve been living under a social media rock, we won’t need to explain who Salt Bae is. The elusive character shot to fame with his viral meme of sprinkling salt onto expertly sliced meat and has boomed ever since.

He has two restaurants here in Dubai, as well as one in Abu Dhabi. Nusr-Et originally opened in Istanbul, before the second in Four Seasons Resort Jumeirah. Last year, he opened a burger joint in DIFC.

Nusret Gökçe aka Salt Bae tends to spark a lot of hype when he comes back to visit his restaurants. His fans, including top celebrities, are usually found clamouring to get a salty selfie with the man himself.

Recently he’s been sharing a few snaps of himself in Dubai, including getting back in the kitchen to make burgers at his DIFC restaurant, Salt Bae Burger. He was also spotted at Nusr-Et Dubai, interacting with guests at their tables.

The restaurateur is known for more than just salt though, Nusret’s pretty handy with a knife, often making videos chopping up pieces of meat like a pro. He’s also famed for selling a gold steak, priced at Dhs1,250.

While we’re not sure exactly how long he’ll be in town for, if you want the chance to bump into him you’ll need to book in quick. Salt Bae is often seen jetting around the world, visiting his restaurants in Istanbul, Mykonos and beyond.

While the European weather takes a turn for the worse though, we predict we’ll be seeing more of the Instagram sensation around town. He captioned a recent Instagram post with the words “I love Dubai” so it’s fair to say he’s a fan of the city.
