Quarantine times have been cut in Dubai for some Covid-19 cases
The new quarantine rules will see some cases reduced to 10 days…
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has amended its guidelines for quarantine in some Covid-19 cases, as well as close contact cases.
If you’ve tested positive for Covid-19 in Dubai, but have not developed any symptoms since testing, you will now have to quarantine for 10 days, instead of the original 14 days.
Similarly, if you have recovered from a mild Covid-19 case, which did not require any fever-reducing medication, your isolation time is also reduced.
The DHA said that this reduction in quarantine time is based on global research, which shows that the majority of contact cases become infected within 10 days of exposure.
Quarantine for close contacts of Covid-19 cases in Dubai
If you have come into contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19 in Dubai, but have not developed any symptoms, you are now required to self-isolate for 10 days, starting from the date of exposure.
Up until now, close contacts had been told to isolate for 14 days.
