Lucia’s is the brand new Capri-inspired venue in Address Sky View. Soothe your soul at a jazz night

Love the smooth sounds of jazz? Head to Jazz Avenue at Gate Avenue in DIFC on Friday and Saturday to see singer Mister Melvin, an accomplished jazz, blues, gospel, soul and funk artist who has appeared at the Nice Jazz Festival, Jazz in Paris – Méridien Etoile, and Blues sur Seine Festival. Start the weekend right with a Friday brunch

Start the weekend off with a bang at Hudson’s Tavern’s new evening brunch. It’s inspired by Sex in the City’s Carrie Bradshaw, and has all of the trappings of New York. Tuck into a hearty breakfast

1920’s themed Café Society serves up breakfast dishes that taste just as good as they look. The menu includes smoked salmon with poached eggs, Café Society breakfast, Café Society dulce de leche, as well as a pastry counter with tonnes of treats.

Brunch alfresco

Garden of Dreams is the alfresco sister to the popular new dinner and a show concept, Dream; also found in Address Beach Resort. Launching on Saturday February 19, the new hotspot presents its Daydreamer Brunch, running between 12pm and 4pm each Saturday. The brunch menu includes a spread of everyone’s favourite sharing dishes, from beef carpaccio and prawns tempura, burrata to pizza rucola. Mains include the likes of homemade mushroom pasta, grilled chicken sliders or the seafood risotto, while to finish you’ll enjoy a Gianduja coffee chocolate bar and strawberry meringue cheesecake.

Check out Sharjah’s new safari park

Sharjah is diversifying it tourism opportunities with the addition of a huge safari park, which opened on Thursday, February 17. Sharjah Safari, located within the Al Bridi Reserve in the city of Al Dhaid is 16 square kilometres, making it the largest safari project outside of Africa. Around 50,000 animals (120 species) call the safari home, including gazelles, giraffes, African wild turtles, crocodiles, lions, rhinos, African rock python, elephants and flamingos. The park has a large natural lake and 100,000 African trees, as well as restaurants, cafes, conference hall, safari visitors camp and more. The park is open daily from 8.30am to 6.30pm. The bronze ticket walking tour, which explores the ‘Africa’ zone is priced at Dhs40 for people aged 12 and above. A silver ticket bus tour explores all but one segment of the safari park and is Dhs120. A gold ticket, which allows you to tour in a luxury vehicle, is priced from Dhs275. You’ll need to head straight to the park to get tickets, as there isn’t an online ticket portal just yet.

Go for a stroll

The iconic Dubai Marina is breathtaking at night, when its glittering skyscrapers and majestic yachts are reflected in the silky waters. Enjoy a romantic amble around, with a walk of up to 3.8 miles. There are plenty of restaurants and outlets around to stop at if you get peckish.
