Spas usually tell you to arrive 15 minutes before your treatment so you can enjoy the facilities. Well, if you’re a guy who’s visiting the Talise Spa at Burj Al Arab, we suggest you give yourself way more than 15 minutes. The spa has put a window in its male sauna and steam room 150m up in the air, giving you incredible views of Dubai.

What’s On took in the view on a recent visit and marvelled at the World Islands and the skyline of Downtown Dubai as we gently sweated in the sauna. A glance down and we suddenly felt a wave of vertigo as we saw the tiny paddleboarders in the sea beneath us. The window is made from a fog-proof glass so that the view never gets spoiled. A steam room with a view – how very Dubai.
