Another rainy morning in Dubai causes traffic chaos
The gloomy weather is expected to stick around for the weekend…
Dubai residents have woken up to yet another rainy morning, causing havoc on the roads on the last day of the working week.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology has confirmed that the unstable weather conditions are set to continue for the rest of the weekend, with cloudy skies and scattered rainfall.
They are predicting rain on Friday, but that it will clear somewhat by Saturday.
Also, winds are blowing dust and sand across the country, causing poor visibility, and rough waters in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
While cloud cover is meant to decrease over the weekend, forecasters are also predicting a dip in temperatures.
Weather.com says Dubai will reach a high of 32 degrees Celsius on Friday, but will drop to 22C on Saturday.
On Sunday, we’re expected to experience a chilly low of 14C, with a high of 20C.
How much rain is sitting in the clouds right now? Well, this is what the satellite imagery over Dubai looked like at 12pm on Thursday (blue means light rain, yellow moderate rain and dark green is strong clouds and humidity):
Many of Dubai’s roads experienced heavy traffic on Thursday morning as light rain fell, with multiple accidents reported.
Two different car accidents reported on AlKhail Road (both directions) near Nad Al Sheba Bridge.
