When is the next public holiday in the UAE? Here's a guide...
There’s a five-day weekend on the horizon…
The next public holiday in the UAE falls in December, and it’s set to be an extra long weekend.
Two public holidays, Commemoration Day and National Day fall very close together, and the UAE Cabinet has confirmed that public and private sector employees will get three days off from Sunday December 1 to Tuesday December 3. This means a five day weekend for those that have Fridays and Saturdays as their days off.

Commemoration Day will be celebrated with a public holiday on Sunday December 1. Formerly referred to as Martyr’s Day, this holiday honours the Emiratis who have died while protecting their country.
The public holiday for UAE National Day is celebrated on Monday December 2 and Tuesday December 3. December 2, 2019 marks 48 years since the UAE was formed, celebrating the unification of the seven emirates in 1971.
