Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), the most popular shopping festival in Dubai returns tonight running from Thursday, December 15 to January 29, 2023. That’s 46 days of spectacular entertainment, concerts, unbeatable shopping deals, must-try feasts for the foodies, and much more.

DSF, which is organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, is now in its 28th edition and will see the city light up with excitement, enthusiasm and adventure that both residents and visitors can enjoy.

When DSF first started, it was all about shopping, shopping and oh, more shopping. This tradition continues this year with DSF offering up a number of shopping experiences.

Shoppers will have a chance to earn point rewards, win millions of dirhams and cars; shop at sales where you can snap up discounts up to 90 per cent; and much more.

Live performances and entertainment

During the opening week on December 16, Arabic superstars, Mohamed Hamaki and Ahmed Saad will perform on stage at the Coca-Cola Arena.

Dubai Beats is back for a second edition on Friday, January 6 and 7 while Tunes Dubai, taking place from January 6 to 16 will showcase emerging artists.

A number of concerts will take place throughout the festival catering to all music lovers. There will be a number of comedy and culture shows, too.

Heading out with the family? Keep an eye open for stage shows and roaming entertainment – the kids are sure to love them.

Eyes to the sky

DUBAI DRONE SHOW

The fireworks are something that everyone looks forward to and DSF promises to deliver a number of sparkling shows. During the opening weekend from Thursday, December 15 to 18, turn your eyes to the skies as a number of fireworks will take place across the city.

The beloved drone shows are also back this year and you can head to Bluewaters Island or JBR to catch the action. There are two new storyboards to check out created just for DSF.  The shows take place daily from December 15 to January 29 at 8pm and 10pm.

Festive markets

Love the outdoor markets at DSF? You’ll be glad to know that a number of markets return including Rigga Night Market, Hub Market and more. Existing outdoor markets including Vibes by the Bay will also join in on the festival fun.

The most popular one to visit however is Etisalat Market Outside the Box which this year has a brand new home in Dubai Design District. The market will feature a ‘New York’ theme and will take place from Thursday, January 19 to 29 with plenty of SMEs to support.

Cultural hotspots

Culture vultures are not forgotten about during the DSF as there will be plenty for them to experience. There will be school talent competitions, community musical performances, cultural events at Global Village and more.

DSF has introduced a new concept called Dubai 80s which will take you way back to when Dubai was just starting to blossom into the city is it today. More information will be announced soon.

Cirque du Soleil

During DSF, catch Cirque du Soleil, the biggest circus in the world which has announced its long-awaited return to the city bringing a spectacular acrobatic production of OVO to the Coca-Cola Arena.

Loved the light installations you spotted over the last DSF? There will be more to post on your ‘Gram this edition. Dubai Lights taking place at Citywalk Dubai will feature artists from across the work showcasing their light artwork.

Palm Jumeirah will feature a lighting district and at Dubai Design District, make a beeline to a huge inflatable art installation called ‘Sky Castle‘.
