Passport holders can visit 185 countries around the world…

Currently in joint 10th spot of the Henley Passport Index, and just one place behind the USA, the UAE passport has considerable international travel clout. That’s the highest it’s ever been, and its rising – having climbed 32 places up the globetrotting wasta chart in just ten years.

The UAE passport has visa-free (or access via visa on arrival, a visitor’s permit, or an electronic travel authority (ETA)) to 185 countries, including large parts of Europe (the UK and  EU countries), Asia, the Americas and Africa.

What is the Henley Passport Index?

The Henley Passport Index ranks countries according to the travel freedom enjoyed by their respective passports. The index is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

It examines 199 passports on their accessibility over 227 separate destinations.

Singapore retains the top position as the most powerful passport in the world with its citizens able to visit 195 destinations out of the 227 countries in the world visa-free. Former champ Japan follows up in second place.
