Whether you’re looking to up your well-honed skills or learn cooking from scratch, you can do it all at Top Chef – a culinary school in Dubai.

Perfect for those who seriously want to improve their culinary skills as well as for social occasions like birthdays, get-togethers or corporate team-building exercises, visitors to Top Chef will enjoy a cooking class overseen by highly-trained chefs, followed by a unique dining experience.

Set in a sweet villa in Jumeirah, inside you’ll find bright interiors, potted plants and pictures adorning the walls. Separated into two working kitchens and a dining room which are flooded with natural light from the many windows, you’ll feel right at home for your cooking class.

Under the watchful eye of executive chef, Thibaut Bertin – who used to work in the kitchen at Atmosphere in the Burj Khalifa – or Head Chef Anthony Pichon, you’ll get to chop, stir and sauté your way to feeling like a masterchef. Or in our case, just completing it was worth a pat on the back.

Our task for the day was beef tenderloin with a mushroom puree, cabbage and pine nut compote with a truffle filo crust and demi glaze, followed by ‘baba exotic’ with pineapple and lemongrass, which were delightfully delicate syrup-soaked sponges to be decorated with icing in the shape of petals and real gold, no less. After the hard work was done, we were led to the beautifully set dining table to enjoy our creations, which weren’t too bad, if we do say so ourselves.

There are classes available for all age and abilities, from kids’ classes and cooking camps (Dhs200) to adults’ classes focused on everything from breakfast (Dhs210) to brunch (Dhs315), culinary art (Dhs495) to homemade pasta (Dhs445) and cooking around the world with taste of Arabia or Asia (Dhs445) as well as dietry specific-classes.
