Paul Hollywood is swapping the Great British Bake Off tent for the Atlantis, The Palm when he hosts some special afternoon teas next month.
The British favourite artisan baker is hosting four days of special afternoon teas at Ossiano at Atlantis, The Palm from April 15 to 18.
Best known for being the judge on the reality TV show The Great British Bakeoff alongside cookery legend Mary Berry, Hollywood will personally design and host the afternoon spread, which will be served among the ‘underwater’ setting on the hotel’s luxury seafood restaurant.
Recognised the world-over for his dough-wielding expertise, the son of a baker has published four cookery books, been head baker at a number of exclusive UK hotels – including The Dorchester in London – had his own TV series, as well as featuring on several cookery shows, and last year concluded his first live baking tour.
Talking about her flour-flinging judging partner, Mary Berry has said, “I would never argue with him over a loaf of something, because he knows the science of it, how they’ve achieved it and everything.”
The silver fox of pastries and pies has, however, become recognised for something other than his kneading technique. In fact, he was dubbed by The Guardian as “the baking woman’s crumpet”.
Before his TV career, the master baker is said to have travelled through the Middle East perfecting his bread baking skills.
“Paul Hollywood is a baking legend,” Mark Patten, senior vice president of food and beverage at Atlantis, The Palm, declared. “Having him at Ossiano will elevate our afternoon tea offering and be a truly special experience for our guests and Dubai residents.”
Ossiano will be serving the afternoon teas curated by Paul Hollywood from 2pm to 5pm with packages starting Dhs295 including food and nonalcoholic beverages and Dhs450 with free flow bubbles.
