Turkey may be the meat of choice over the next month or so with Christmas and Thanksgiving keeping us all in fear of the weighing scales, but for those who like their meals with a hint of colour, there is plenty to get the tastebuds tingling.

THE STEAK BAR There’s a sleek new DIFC restaurant offering top grade beef that’s come all the way from the USA. At the Steak Bar there’s almost an educational angle as you talk through the beautiful display of beef on offer with the chefs before picking your cut. Stand back and watch it being expertly cooked with spices of your choice on the open grill. Then all you have to do is slice it up and slap on a bit of your favourite sauce.

DIFC, Building 2, next to Café Bateel, Dubai, hours tbc. Tel: (04) 4359555. Metro: Financial Centre. thesteakbar.com
