RedFestDXB 2017: Chris Brown cancels...
The RedFestDXB lineup has been tweaked…
The first day of RedFest DXB was supposed to involve a line up of Chris Brown, The Veronicas and Daya – but R&B singer Chris Brown has cancelled (due to the rescheduling of his tour). Replacing Brown on February 2nd will be G-Easy and Grammy Award-winning rapper Sean Paul.
The music festival will run over the weekend of February 2nd and 3rd at Dubai Media City Ampitheatre, and tickets start from Dhs395.
G-Eazy is known for his multiple-platinum selling tune Me, Myself & I. You might also recognise his song from the Ghostbusters soundtrack:
Meanwhile, Jamaican rapper, singer and songwriter Sean Paul’s career spans 15 years, and he’s bagged 20 big music awards in that time. His collab’ with Sia, Cheap Thrills, was undoubtedly one of the hits of 2016:
His smorgasboard of tunes include She Doesn’t Mind and Give It Up To Me, and he’s guest-starred on hits for everyone from Beyoncé to Enrique.

DEMI LOVATO
Demi Lovato came onto our screens as a tween star in Disney’s Camp Rock in 2008, and has since made a name for herself in the music industry with a string of top 10 singles and even more awards (and she’s only 24).
Her biggest hit to date is Heart Attack, which is all about her explosive pipes (this woman can sing):
TOVE LO
Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo is best known for her song Habits (Stay High), which was famously remixed into a chill-hop hit by Hippie Sabotage.
The angelic-voiced star has since collaborated with some of the best, including Coldplay, Flume, Adam Lambert and more…
MIKE POSNER
Mike Posner, the singer-songwriter behind radio hits I Took A Pill In Ibiza and Cooler Than Me, is no stranger to hit-making.
I Took A Pill In Ibiza currently sits at over 600 million views on YouTube, and the star helped co-write hits Sugar by Maroon 5, as well as Boyfriend by Justin Bieber and Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth.
Basically, he’s a hit machine.
ALESSIA CARA
20-year-old Alessia Cara flew onto the music scene last year with her hit Here, and has since garnered quite the following.
Cara is now signed to Def Jam, having found her footing producing acoustic covers on YouTube.

DAYA
Amazing 16-year-old singer-songwriter Daya will make her debut Media City stage on the Thursday too. You may know the American up-and-comer, who sounds like a Lorde-Selena Gomez hybrid, from her debut single Hide Away:
THE VERONICAS
Brisbane pop-rock twin sisters The Veronicas have been going since 2005, but their June single In My Blood is probably their best known:
Born on Christmas Day, the sisters began performing at a young age, and have developed from poppy, to punk-inspired and now have a decidedly electro bent.
You’ll definitely be able to sing along to their first major single, 2005’s 4ever:
Tickets for RedFest are available at Ticketmaster.ae and at all Virgin Megastores.
