The new Cirque du Soleil show will land in Dubai next January…

Love Cirque du Soleil? We have good news: a new touring show is coming to Dubai next January. Toruk – The First Flight will run at Dubai World Trade Centre from January 4 to 17 next year.

The show premiered in Montreal in 2015, and has been touring globally since – it’s all about the philosophies in the Avatar film that focus on a harmonious coexistence with nature. And yes, there are loads of blue people in it.

Here’s a glimpse of what to expect:

The show was written and directed by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, and it is set thousands of years before the events in the film Avatar (before humans set foot on the mythical land of Pandora).

The plot? Well, the plots aren’t as key as the stunts and sets on these shows, but here’s a rundown: “When a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls, Ralu and Entu, two Omatikaya boys on the brink of adulthood, fearlessly decide to take matters into their own hands. Upon learning that Toruk can help them save the Tree of Souls, they set out, together with their newfound friend Tsyal, on a quest high up in the Floating Mountains to find the mighty red and orange predator that rules the Pandoran sky.”

We don’t know how much tickets are yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
