Happy birthday, Sheikh Zayed!

One of the youngest members of Dubai’s royal family is growing up fast.

Little Sheikh Zayed, the son of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, celebrated his sixth birthday on January 7.

His mother, HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, shared an adorable snap of the father and son duo on Instagram to mark the big day:

What do we know about Sheikh Zayed? Well, the royal already seems to be a keen equestrian, following in the footsteps of both his mother and father.

Princess Haya previously told Emirates Woman her youngest son “absolutely loves the desert”.

“Sheikh Mohammed is great. He believes that the kids need to get dirty every day to have fun! It’s also really good for their immunity,” she said.

Sheikh Zayed is named after his grandfather, the late HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

2018 marks 100 years since the birth of the UAE’s founding father.
