Who said good art has to be expensive?

If we could afford to shell out millions of Dirhams buying Damien Hirst’s latest masterpiece to hang in our living room we would, but let’s face it, most regular people don’t have anywhere near that sort of money to spend on art.

That’s why that it’s great news that the World Art Dubai fair is set to return this week, bringing with it a host of opportunities for us “normals” to get our hands on some affordably priced artwork.

Taking place between Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 April at the Dubai World Trade Centre, World Art Dubai will bring together over 300 regional and international galleries offering work priced anywhere between US$100 to US$20,000 – so you’re bound to find something that suits your budget.

Now in its fourth year, the fair is part of Dubai’s official art season and will see artists flying in from Europe, the US, India, Japan and more. They’ll be showing off their work across a number of disciplines including contemporary paintings, prints, sculptures, photography and mixed media.

Tickets are available at the door for Dhs25 and include access to numerous workshops, interactive installations and panel discussions taking place over the four days. If we were to pick just one, however, it would have to be the ‘Art for Every Wall’ activation which will offer a variety of original artwork for no more than Dhs3,000 per piece.
