Physique 57 curator to host special barre classes in Dubai
What’s On has news that Physique 57 in Dubai will host the company’s co-found Tanya Becker to teach two special barre classes in Dubai.
Physique 57 fans, get ready to hit the barre with a teaching legend. Tanya Becker, co-founder of Physique 57, will be visiting the Dubai studio to teach two exclusive classes on February 4 and 5 2015.
For barre workout devotees, it doesn’t get any better than this; Becker is, to paraphrase Ron Burgundy, kind of a big deal in the fitness world. Physique 57 has cult status in the US (and a growing following in Dubai), and you only have to look at Becker’s incredible physique – like those selfie worthy abs – to believe in its effectiveness.
Then there’s the fact that the workout is credited with transforming the taut and toned bodies of some of Hollywood’s fittest celebs. Emmy Rossum, Kelly Ripa, supermodel Karolina Kurkova, and even Mrs John Legend Chrissy Teigen credit Physique 57 with helping them get (and stay) in incredible shape.

If you’ve yet to try this brilliantly effective class, here’s the skinny: it’s a ballet barre based workout that uses a combination of high intensity cardio bursts, mixed with strength building and stretching, to build long lean muscles. According to the teachers, you can see results in as few as eight workouts.
Becker, a former Lotte Berk instructor (a dance based workout) joined forces with Wall Street hot shot Jennifer Vaughan Maanavi in 2006 to open the first Physique 57 studio in New York. It also has locations in Scarsdale, the Hamptons and Beverley Hills. When it arrived in Dubai, it was the brand’s first ever international studio.
If you want to learn from the best, you’ll have to sign up fast – this one’s sure to be a sell out, and reservations must be made in the City Walk studio. Classes will take place on February 4 at 6.15pm and February 5 and 9am. Reservations cost Dhs175 and spaces are limited.
