What’s On has details on Brad Pitt’s new film, War Machine, and where residents may be able to catch a glimpse of the actor in the city.

While filming for Brad Pitt’s newest film War Machine has already started here in Abu Dhabi, residents and fans have been left wanting for pictures or news of the Hollywood star.

That all changed on Sunday October 25, when Twitter user Nina @n_inab said she spotted the actor leaving the film set after getting into a white SUV. Her tweet reads, “I just saw #bradpitt He was in this white SUV!!!!! He just left location now #abudhabi.”

Abu Dhabi will stand in for Afghanistan, with images posted on Twitter showing a residential street in the capital becoming the spot for an American Embassy building. Other pictures from Twitter user @AnasIskander show shots of the military-themed set from a higher vantage point, including a large, imposing gate.

The news comes after Pitt was photographed earlier in London, also on set for the film, sporting grey hair and army fatigues.

While there has still been no sighting of Brad’s other half, actress Angelina Jolie, or any of their six children, it was assumed the family would join the actor for his stint here in Abu Dhabi.

The film, which also stars Topher Grace, Will Poulter and Anthony Michael Hall, was inspired by the best-selling book The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan by Michael Hastings and tells the tale of the “rock star” four-star army general Stanley McChrystal (Pitt) who was in charge of command during the war in Afghanistan.

The film will be released on Netflix as well as in select theatres next year.
