For those unaware, last month Dubai played host to the Badminton World Federation’s World Superseries Finals, but a moment from the battle is only just now going viral…

After a circuit of 12 tournaments in a number of places around the globe, the top 32 world ranked players in singles and doubles arrived in Dubai to top the ranks and claim the prize money of Dhs3.7 million.

However, it wasn’t the prize money that caught peoples’ eyes.

It was this incredible rally in the men’s doubles, which has since garnered over 2 million views on video website Streamable.

We especially love the little backwards wrist-flick at around half-way through.

Here’s the video:

The Danish duo of Mads-Conrad Peterson and Mads Pieler Kolding were against Japanese opponents Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda: the latter eventually went on to compete in the finals.

Although the Danish side lost the point, we think it goes without saying that their effort was more than valiant.

We have to give props to Mads Pieler Kolding (the guy at the back of the court for most of the clip), who was incredibly nimble for an utter giant at 6’9″ tall.

WHAT OTHER SPORTING EVENTS CAN I CATCH IN DUBAI?

If you fancy a bit more high-intensity racket action, the Dubai Opera will play host to the 2017 Professional Squash Association (PSA) Dubai World Series Finals from June 6 to 10.

It’ll be the first ever sporting event to be staged at the Dubai Opera, and will see the world’s best eight male and female ranked players duke it out to determine who will be the winner of the 2016/17 season. We wonder if we’ll see a rally there as impressive as the one above?

If you’re looking to nab tickets, they’ll soon be available for purchase from Dubai Opera’s website.
