Tell us about it, stud: Grease is coming to Dubai
Hopelessly devoted to all things Grease? Don’t miss your chance to see it live…
How many times have you dressed up as Olivia Newton-John for a fancy dress party? Do you still mourn Frenchy’s failed beautician career? Do you sing the end bars of Summer Nights several decibels louder than the rest of the song, in all its nasal glory, frightening anyone in your immediate vicinity? Just us? OK, then.
UK Theatre Company Curve is bringing their fresh take on Grease The Musical to Dubai Worth Trade Centre in April.
Since its creation in 1971 as a theatre musical, Grease has been revived a number of times on Broadway, the West End and has borne several international tours. It was also the highest-grossing musical film of all time until Mamma Mia and Les Misérables eclipsed it.
For one week only, you can burn up the quarter mile with Danny, Sandy, Rizzo and the rest of the gang as all the action unfolds onstage.
Did you know?
*Elvis Presley turned down the role of the Guardian Angel.
*Stockard Channing’s “hickey from Kenickie” was real, Jeff Conway applied it himself.
*Olivia Newton-John had to be sewn into her “bad Sandy” pants every morning
*In the stage production, Sandy’s last name is Dumbrowski, but this was changed to Olsson because of Newton-John’s thick Australian accent.
