Dubai's Careem launches food delivery service
They’re taking orders from today, and offering discounts on a host of restaurants to begin with too…
Dubai taxi company Careem has launched a new food delivery service in the city that’s set to give you even more choice when ordering in.
Called Careem Now, the app is separate to the Careem taxi app, and is available to download from the app store.
Launching today, Monday December 17, Careem Now is offering discounts at a selection of popular Dubai eateries, such as 30 per cent off at Circle Cafe, 20 per cent off Bakemart and 10 per cent off at Subway. We’re not sure how long the discount will last, so order in fast to make the most of a discounted lunch.

“We believe the opportunity for deliveries in the region is even bigger than ride-hailing,” chief Executive and co-founder Mudassir Sheikha told Reuters at Careem’s headquarters in Dubai. “It is going to become a very significant part of Careem over time,” Gulf Business reports.
Set to rival the likes of Deliveroo and Uber Eats, users can place their order in the app directly with the restaurant. The time for delivery and the restaurant rating are also displayed in the app.
There are already a wealth of restaurants active on the app, which include healthier options such as Poke & Co and Sushi Counter, as well as fast food chains Hardee’s, Papa John’s and KFC. Restaurants including Tribeca, the Tap House and Bianca pizza are also already onboard.
That’s our lunch sorted then…
