Downtown Dubai will no longer permit holiday home rentals
Homeowners have until September 19 to cease their holiday home operations…
The master developer behind Downtown Dubai, Emaar, has announced that holiday home rentals will no longer be welcome in the area.
In a circular issued by the Emaar community management team, homeowners were advised that they have until September 19 to cease all holiday home operations.
According to the circular, the decision to make Downtown Dubai a no-go zone for holiday home rentals has been made after the management team received numerous complaints from residents of disturbances. “In the recent past, there has also been a growing concern as holiday homes have been used for non-residential and non-family orientated activities, impacting the value and neighbourhood spirit of our communities” the statement read.
Any apartments or villas in the area need to have made necessary arrangements to cancel any existing holiday home bookings and book no further ones as of Thursday September 19.
The news comes just a day after Emaar launched Ease by Emaar, their own short term rental platform that will allow homeowners in certain Emaar communities to rent out their properties to short-term guests as holiday homes.
Emaar describes that the new platform “opens a new avenue for visitors to experience a premium lifestyle located in some of the most sought-after destinations in the city”.
Guests at any of the properties listed on Ease by Emaar can look forward to hotel-grade housekeeping and amenities, and a digital mobile concierge that can assist in making recommendations and providing information on experiences across the city.
A welcome pack, unlimited Wi-Fi and an Ease Pass – a pass offering deals on the city’s top attractions, will all be included on with bookings made through Ease by Emaar.
If you own an Emaar property in Dubai and choose to list your home for short term rental for Ease by Emaar, the company will provide all property management services for you.
