Emirates bans certain MacBook Pros from its flights
Passengers cannot carry them as hand luggage, nor in their checked bags…
Emirates has issued a statement on its official website advising passengers that they cannot bring certain MacBook Pros on Emirates flights.
The airline issued the security alert after Apple recalled all 15-inch MacBook Pro models sold between September 2015 and February 2017. According to Emirates, Apple cited “defective batteries that could overheat and pose a fire safety risk” as the reason for the recall.
“As a safety precaution, travellers will not be permitted to carry these MacBook Pro models as checked or carry-on baggage on Emirates flights unless the battery has been replaced” the statement on Emirates official website read.
If you’re ensure if this affects your device, you’re advised to head to the dedicated Apple support page for the recall program and enter the serial number of your Macbook.
