Sundowners and a watercolour sunset…

The Art Lounge at Louvre Abu Dhabi is now open and it provides gallery-worthy views over Abu Dhabi’s city skyline.

It’s a classy ensemble, daubed with organic, pastel hues, positioned on a terrace space above the Museum Café. The lounge serves up a neat range of light eats alongside a sophisticated selection of adult beverages.

The art of being happy

Happy hour at The Art Lounge is painted in broad twilight brushstrokes every single day (except for Monday, when it’s closed all day). Between 5.30pm and 9pm (or 6.30pm to 9pm on Wednesdays) fine art fanciers can pick up a two-for-one deal on golden hour drinks.

C’est cheese

Fuelled by the gallic gastronomy of neigbouring Fouquet’s, there’s trio of weekly cheese and grape nights available at The Art Lounge.

It’s a full five beret salute to fragrant French cheeses, accompanied by exciting exports from the cavernous, fabled Fouquet’s grape cellar.

C’est Cheese is available to indulge in between 5pm and 10pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and between 6.30pm and 9pm on Wednesdays. It’s just Dhs150 for one cheese board and a bottle of grape, or Dhs Dhs250 for two hours of unlimited grape and cheese.

In Louvre

You can still access the The Art Lounge after the museum doors are closed (at 6.30pm), but you’ll need to book. If you’re arriving after closing, just make your way to Gate 2 of the museum  (following signs to Fouquet’s).

Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island, open Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday| 2pm to 8pm (until 9pm on Wednesdays); Thursday, Friday 2pm to 10pm, The Art Lounge is closed on Monday.
