Go stand in the presence of a Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece

Leonardo da vinci art

Louvre Abu Dhabi is celebrating its five-year anniversary and it will be hosting a Leonardo da Vinci for two years. The painting by the great master is Saint John the Baptist – a loan to Louvre Abu Dhabi from the Musée du Louvre (The Louvre, or the Louvre Museum in Paris, France). The painting is a renowned masterpiece by the Renaissance icon. You can go see it from November 8 onwards. The masterpiece is believed to be his final painting which he, unfortunately, didn’t finish as he passed away in 1519. The presentation of Saint John the Baptist at the Louvre Abu Dhabi is just part of a series of four major loans made by the Musée du Louvre. While you’re there, make sure you see the huge Impressionist exhibition which has paintings by Manet, Monet, Degas and other popular impressionist artists.

Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi, Tue to Sun 10am to 6.30pm, closed Mon, Tel: (600) 565 566. louvreabudhabi.ae
