Another reason to visit the cool cultural city…

Want to make good use of the last few days of the cool UAE season? Sharjah has a cool brand new attraction you need to visit: Hanging Gardens.

Located in the city of Kalba on the Sharjah-Kalba Road, Hanging Gardens was inaugurated by HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah earlier this month.

What can you find at the attraction?

The Hanging Gardens is home to more than 100,000 trees in a garden spanning 1.6 million square feet. You can expect plenty of green spaces, flowers on the terraces, and even a cool waterfall.

If you want to spend time admiring the views, pull up a table at the restaurant. Built using traditional wooden architecture, the restaurant features a classic semi-circular architectural design and provides views of the gardens and waterfall.

For little ones, there is a designated recreational area for three different age groups. Adults, slip on your hiking shoes and explore the climbing routes highlighting the agricultural terraces, waterfalls, lush trees, and colourful flowers.

For runners, there is a 760-metre running track but for a more family-friendly tour, you can hop on the excursion train where you will be able to explore the different parts of the garden.

Photos of the venue also showcase a skatepark, so skaters if you are heading over, pack the skateboard and safety gear.

The launch of the Hanging Garden is just one of many visions of the Ruler of Sharjah to enhance and improve the economic, tourism, and cultural landscape of Kalba City.

But this isn’t UAE’s first waterfall…

The Waterfall Khorfakkan

Back in December 2020, Khorfakkan opened a stunning new amphitheatre and a waterfall attraction, adding to the very many reasons residents and tourists need to visit the peaceful enclave.
