Art season has officially begun and Warehouse421 has an amazing line-up of exhibitions and workshops during September 2019.

Here are a few highlights… 

 Photography Level 1

Develop your skills with the DSLR in this photography workshop with Gulf Photography Plus. The course is on Friday, September 20, 2019 and costs Dhs780.

Introductory to Calligraphy

This course is led by Majid Alyousef and Wissam Shawkat. You will learn about the history and development of calligraphy, learn the few basic strokes and the two elementary styles -Ruqa’a and Diwani. The course is on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, and the following week on Saturday, 28 and Sunday, 29 September and costs Dhs800.

Lost and Found: Art-making and the Tentative Sculpture

Artists Christopher Benton and Sultan Khamis will teach you how to transform everyday junk into a masterpiece. You’ll get your chance to do just this after a quick theory class. The workshop costs Dhs120 and will take place on Sunday, September 22, 2019.

Pattern-making

Engy Mahdy will teach the basic terms such as warp, weft, and bias to making a toile and holding a fitting to tailoring a garment from scratch. The course costs Dhs960 and takes place on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Book Club

Launched in an effort to bring together avid readers together, the two books on the reading list are Letters to a Young Poet by German poet Rainer Maria Rilke’s and Only Dull People are Brilliant at Breakfast by Oscar Wilde. The session take place on Sunday, September 29, 2019.
