A new public holiday has just been announced in the UAE.
President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed has declared November 30 will be a public holiday known as Martyrs’ Day.
In a statement provided by news agency Wam, the country will honour those who have sacrificed their lives for the UAE in the line of duty whether at home, abroad, in the civil, military and humanitarian fields.
Sheikh Khalifa ordered this day be an annual public holiday throughout the UAE.
