W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island to launch on F1 Grand Prix weekend

The launch weekend will include performances from Claptone and Faithless…

Last year, we announced that The Yas Hotel would be taken over by Marriott International and rebranded as a W hotel. Now, the time has finally come and we couldn’t be more excited.

W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island will open just in time for the Formula 1 Grand Prix Race weekend and there’s plenty of activities happening to celebrate. From Thursday November 28 to Sunday December 1, guests can get involved with pool parties, brunches and more.

Epic Grand Prix pool party OKOKO will be taking over WET Deck for a three-day festival of fun. On Friday November 29, Defected DJ Sandy Rivera and friends will be headlining, on Saturday November 30 Faithless and friends will host a party with ‘jaw-dropping neon production’. The closing party on Sunday December 1 will be hosted by Claptone with a carnival theme from 9pm to 4am as festivities conclude.

The hotel has three dining outlets to choose from including Garage, which has incredible racetrack views, Italian eatery Amici and chic Indian restaurant Angar. You can enjoy brunch/lunch or dinner at all three over the F1 weekend, with prices starting from Dhs450 per person.

We’re yet to see what the rooms will look like, but if W Dubai – The Palm is anything to go by, you can expect a modern sanctuary bursting with fun, creative details. There will also be lounge to relax and unwind and a spa to help guests prepare for a night of crazy antics.

W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island will join W Dubai – The Palm and W Muscat as the third W property in the region. For now, room bookings are still under the Yas Hotel branding but rates for F1 weekend start from Dhs2,500 plus taxes per night.
