Looking for a new hobby in skating, or maybe you just want to kickstart your past glory days? There are a number of skate parks in the UAE where you can get back on the board or try the recreational activity for the first time.

Adventure HQ
The wooden skate park in Adventure Zone is huge and they offer training so you’ll be doing Ollies in no time. Helmet, knee and elbow pads are supplied to novices, as are the boards, so you’ll look the part even if you’re not quite Tony Hawk. The venue also has other indoor activities such as rock climbing, trampolining and more.

Aljada Skate Park
This new shiny skate park opened in Sharjah just last month in November and is a perfect spot to show off your skills. It is one of the biggest skate parks in the Middle East taking up a total of 90,000 square feet of land. You will find it in the heart of the new Downtown Sharjah.

Bay Avenue
This skate park is tucked away behind Business Bay’s ‘Bay Avenue’ shopping area where you’ll also find plenty of green space, a jogging track, two children’s playgrounds and a gymnasium. It comes complete with ramps, poles and a track to practice your skills. It is open daily and all ages and skill levels are welcome.

Al Mamzar Park
This secluded park sits on a headland at the mouth of Khor al-Mamzar near Sharjah. There are plenty of open spaces with barbecues opening onto white beaches. In the middle of the park is an outdoor 12-foot concrete half pipe with an ‘include all’ atmosphere, where non-skaters watch the gnarlier folk take on the ramps.

Damac Hills Skate Park
This community skate park in Damac Hills boasts 2,000 square metres of area for residents and skaters alike to shred and skate to their heart’s content. Designed specifically for trick skating, this skate park is open for the use of anybody with elbow pads, and a board.
The Block, d3
Located at the d3 waterfront, The Block is an area that features not only a basketball court, volleyball courts, and climbing walls. There also happens to be a skatepark situated within The Block. The recreational facility is also open to both residents and visitors looking to unwind at the urban beach, or practice their best kickflip at the skate park.

Possibly one of the more well-known skate parks in Dubai, this skate park is open to all ages, but little ones aged four years and younger must be supervised by a legal guardian. There are some house rules, protective gear is a must and no snaking your fellow skaters. A two-hour day pass is Dhs75 for one adult and one kid, while a yearly membership is Dhs1,200.
