The city’s love affair with acquiring world records continues.
On January 21 a Guinness World Records spokesman for the MENA region announced that Dubai is now home to the world’s largest vertical maze:
“Guinness World Records is thrilled to recognise and honour the Al Rostamani Group on the creation of an iconic and unique tower that has contributed to the growth and transformation of the region,” said Talal Omar, country manager for Guinness World Records Mena.
The enormous 55-storey structure, known as The Maze Tower, is located off Sheikh Zayed Road close to DIFC, and its main feature is the intricate lines of balconies forming a giant labyrinth on the front and rear facades.

“The creation of this unique building was a prestigious project for the Al Rostamani Group, which drew its inspiration from the creative and innovative changes taking place across Dubai and the UAE,” said Marwan Abdullah Al Rostamani, chairman of Al Rostamani Group and The Maze Tower conceptualiser.
The tower boasts the Maze Eye – an 8m circular video wall at the top of the building, which can beam images great distances. The maze theme continues up on the rooftop too where a maze-patterned garden is located.
