Earlier in the year, What’s On revealed that Urban Outfitters would be opening a store in The Dubai Mall, and now finally it’s here. The first Urban Outfitters store in the Middle East opened on September 5, 2019.

The 10,000 square meter space serves as a destination for all things men’s and women’s fashion, homewares and lifestyle. It’s a place you can go to to get a knockout outfit for your friend’s birthday brunch but also pick them up a fun last-minute gift.

Hailing from Philadelphia USA, Urban Outfitters was founded in 1970 to offer a ‘unique retail experience and community centre for young and creative customers’. Nowadays its a globally recognised store with many original and third-party brands under its umbrella.

Brands found include urban streetwear labels FILA, Nike, Champion and Adidas, as well as their own vintage brand – Urban Renewal. In addition to clothing, the new store offers a range of home and interior products including bedding, tapestries, rugs and art, as well as a music and entertainment collection where you’ll find vinyl, books, cameras, tech accessories, games and gadgets.

The Dubai Mall store aims to showcase the ‘UO culture’ through its fit-out with industrial finishings, natural textures and a lush green window display. Inside you’ll find separate areas for each brand, offering a variety of styles as you flow through the store.

Our favourite area is the shoe section with a wide selection of the latest kicks, summery sandals, and even boots. The homeware selection is also pretty impressive with everything from fairy lights to animated bath mats to transform your house into an Urban Outfitters Instagram post.
