Because let’s be honest, we all love a bit of celebrity goss…

Dubai is quickly becoming the mini-break and stopover favourite for the world’s rich and famous.

With so many A-listers (and B-, C- and D-listers) visiting the glittering emirate every day, we bring you a weekly round up of who was spotted where.

So if you were wondering who to keep an eye out for when you’re down at Dubai Mall, we’ve thrown together a list of some of the famous faces in Dubai and the UAE this week…

Mariah Carey

The world’s most famous diva touched down on Monday night, ahead of her performance at the Dubai Jazz Festival. The superstar singer made sure to take in the tourist sights, stopping by the Burj Khalifa soon after arriving – and we were there to document the special moment.

Carey’s adorable twins, Moroccan and Monroe, came along too (as well as her backing dancer BF Bryan Tanaka) – and the singer took them for a play in the snow at Ski Dubai in the Mall of Emirates.

Steven Gerrard

The Liverpool football legend was in Dubai this week as part of a promotional campaign for Adidas. Fans packed into the Mall of Emirates on Sunday to meet the star, who described Dubai as one of his favourite destinations.

Ruffa Gutierrez

The Filipino actress and beauty queen enjoyed a stay at Atlantis The Palm, and managed to take in Dubai Marina, the Creek, a desert safari… and even Legoland. Here’s a pic of the model all dressed up for a gala night at the resort (how did she manage to fit that outfit in her suitcase?).

Alessandro Del Piero

After a red carpet appearance at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco, the Italian football star passed through Dubai on a flying visit, sharing a quick snap from the airport. We’re not entirely sure what he got up to, but he said he had an “amazing time” (presumably he left the airport, then).

Sophie Pascoe

Like Del Piero, New Zealand’s nine-time Paralympic gold medalist – an incredibly inspiring athlete – also swung by the UAE after the Laureus Awards, sharing a snap of The Lost Chambers Aquarium at Atlantis.

Angelique Kerber

The German world No. 2 tennis player was in town for the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships this week, but also managed to squeeze in some high-end dining – namely, the Dinner in the Sky experience.

Mamadou Sakho

The French football star enjoyed a mini-break in Dubai with his wife, Majda. The pair were snapped checking out the view from At The Top at the Burj Khalifa, along with Emirati entrepreneur Omar Al Busaidy.

Silento

The Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) singer has spent the last couple of weeks touring the Middle East, and was happy to pose for a pic with fans in Dubai Marina Mall.
