Guns N' Roses promoter says it will work to resolve issues for future gigs
But it doesn’t look like fans will be getting a refund this time…
Events company 117 Live says it will work to resolve transport issues that resulted in a “shambolic” Guns N’ Roses concert for many Dubai fans.
The rock legends were playing to a 30,000-strong crowd at the Autism Rocks Arena on Friday night as part of their ‘Not in this Lifetime’ world tour.
However, hundreds of fans – including the band itself – got caught up in traffic chaos on the way to the venue, which opened at 4pm.
Some fans missed the start of the show, while others missed out completely.

Yesterday, a form went up on the Platinum List website which enabled those with unused tickets to apply for a refund.
However, a 117 Live spokeswoman told What’s On this was a mistake, and the form has since been taken down. Ticket-holders with any issues should instead contact info@117live.com, she said.

In a statement, 117 Live chief executive Thomas Ovesen said: “We fully acknowledge that whilst thousands of fans had an incredible experience at this weekend’s Guns N’ Roses concert, there were some fans who faced problems getting to the venue, due to the heavy traffic flow leading up to show time.
“With an expected crowd of 30,000 people, we were fully prepared, opening the doors early at 4pm and encouraging fans to beat the traffic.
“For those who unfortunately experienced heavy traffic we will continue to work with the RTA and Dubai Events Committee to improve the road management with solutions such as new road access points, general highway road management and even mandatory park and ride services, to ensure a better arrival experience for all future concerts at the Autism Rocks Arena.”
For the Bryan Adams concert at the Autism Rocks Arena on March 9, fans were encouraged to arrive as early as possible for the 9pm show, to avoid the usual Dubai Thursday evening traffic. Doors open at 6pm.
117 Live said further announcements would be made “ahead of the next large-scale concert in May”, detailing new improvements and arrangements of how to best get to and from the venue.
