Sponsored content: Spectacular views, delicious food, great deals… this Dubai institution ticks all the boxes.

You know the drill – you have friends or family in town, and your job is to come up with an itinerary that will show them the best the city has to offer.

With so much to do and see – not to mention a dizzying choice of dining options – it can be a formidable task. Where are you supposed to start?

Well, we just so happen to know the perfect place. You’ve probably heard of Boardwalk, the waterside restaurant at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, but did you know you can have a delicious breakfast buffet there for just Dhs85?

Sitting on a wooden-stilted jetty, this Mediterranean-style spot is a Dubai icon, having been around for more than 20 years (long before the Burj Khalifa was a mere twinkle in the skyline).

Want to treat your visitors to some Dubai alfresco dining with spectacular views? Well now is the time to book your table at Boardwalk, while the weather is still cool.

Here are five reasons why Boardwalk is the best place to impress your guests…

AMAZING VIEWS: CHECK

Nowhere says “this is Dubai” quite like Boardwalk’s stunning terrace, which offers idyllic views across the Creek and all the way out to the Downtown skyline.

You can sit and watch gulls swirling through the sky, as luxury yachts sail past on the gently lapping water. Of course, the glittering Burj Khalifa in the distance looks beautiful day or night

RELAXED ATMOSPHERE: CHECK

After a hard day of sightseeing, your guests will want to take some time to chill out. Boardwalk is incredibly quiet and serene, even though it’s just a hop, skip and a jump from the bustling souks and sights of Old Dubai.

It’s a place where you’ll be happy to sit back, relax, and enjoy a luxuriously long meal. Which brings us to the food…

CATERS FOR ALL TASTES: CHECK

Fussy diners among your party? Not to worry, Boardwalk has options to suit everyone.

There’s a brand new weekend breakfast buffet where guests can tuck into a range of baked goods, cereals, fresh fruits, and yoghurts.

There are also special stations where you can ensure your eggs and waffles are cooked to perfection. They come with all of the trimmings, like beans, sausages and hash browns.

Breakfast runs from 8am to 11.30am every Friday and Saturday and costs Dhs85, or Dhs45 for kids aged between 7 and 12 years.

On Monday evenings, you can indulge in a delicious Mediterranean-inspired buffet, with an outdoor barbecue, fresh salad bar, and pasta station, as well as a tasty selection of sweet treats.

This runs between 7pm and 10.30pm, and costs Dhs150 for food only, or Dhs300 inclusive of house drinks.

Boardwalk also has a fresh fish market where you can select your catch and have it cooked the way you like, a huge selection of antipasti dishes, and a wood-fired pizza oven.

Want something a bit different? Be sure to try the squid ink-injected Black Pizza, available for lunch and dinner until the end of March.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE: CHECK

We’ve never seen anything quite like Boardwalk’s BBQ Donuts. No, it’s not a menu item – it’s a private, donut-shaped boat where you can enjoy your meal while floating on the Creek.

Each Donut has its own BBQ, so you can grill your own meat on-board. You also have the option of hiring a captain who will take care of both the cooking and the steering, for an extra scenic ride.

The BBQ Donuts are available daily from midday to 9pm, and hold a maximum of eight guests. Packages are available from Dhs120, or Dhs75 for children.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY: CHECK

Boardwalk is a place where you will always feel comfortable, whether you’re hosting a big group of friends, or entertaining family. There’s even a Kids’ Corner with toys, games, playhouses and puzzles where you can leave the kids for up to three hours for Dhs45 per child, in the capable hands of professional child minders — leaving you to enjoy your meal in peace.
