The headline act at the Middle East’s largest video games convention, Games 14, will be WWE superstar Sheamus.
The wrestling champion is in town for World Trade Centre expo to help launch WWE 2k15 (officially released on October 31), and will be signing autographs and posing for photos with guests on Friday September 12.
The rest of the event, which runs from September 11 to 13, will showcase the very best in gaming, from new consoles and games, to gadgets and other gimmicks, with an expected crowd in excess of 20,000.
Heavyweights from the industry, including Sony and Microsoft will be exhibiting, with visitors anxious to see if any big game reveals will be done on either the Playstation or XBox One. What’s On spies believe that as well as the confirmed appearance of new first-person shooter Destiny (from the creators of Halo), Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare will also be unveiled.
Alongside the industry power pair, software giants Activision, Electronic Arts (EA), Konami, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and Ubisoft will also have a presence.
The latest instalment of the show is the seventh – the first having been held in a significantly smaller hall at Grand Hyatt hotel – with previous years having seen regional launches of series smash hits like Pro Evolution Soccer, Modern Warfare, FIFA and Assassin’s Creed 2, while Sony chose last year to unveil the Playstation 4 to the Middle East audience.
As well as traditional gaming opportunities, the event will see life performances from characters, a Cosplay competition, other meet-and-greats, interactive exhibits and real-life entertainment. Tournaments for all major titles will also be held.
Tickets for the show are priced at just Dhs50 per day, with opening hours the hall open from the middle of the day to 10pm.
