Welcome to Miami: Plans for a Dubai Music Conference
What’s On pals Hype have news about a music conference in Dubai, for Dubai Music Week, as well as the Dubai Music Conference.
It looks like the region will play host to not one but two music conferences, report our pals at Hype. One will form part of Dubai Music Week, and the other is Dubai Music Conference – both planned for the tail end of this year.
Dubai Music Week has yet to announce its plans, but initial details are emerging about Dubai Music Conference, which will be a two-day series of “lively, innovative and interactive talks and workshops” followed by a festival.
“The conference will connect the region’s rapidly growing, dynamic dance music scene with global brands and leading figures in the industry. Focus will be on creativity, the most recent innovations, technology, trends, concerns and challenges, and the practical solutions adopted in the field of music,” said a statement on DMC’s website. “The conference will attract DJs, promoters, producers, managers and labels from around the world.”
The website also states: “Having worked on the world’s leading club and dance events – Miami, Ibiza, Europe – the team behind DMC has a deep understanding of what makes a good party and a strong vision for what DMC should be about. The DMC festival will feature an extensive line-up of handpicked international DJs; a mix of A-listers and those who are really pushing the boundaries of electronic music in both this region and internationally.”
Organised by Dubai-based company Blue Leaf, the venue for DMC had yet to be revealed as this issue of Hype went to press, but the website claimed it was designed for “both industry professionals and music enthusiasts to come together for four days of creativity and collaboration, or just to celebrate the sheer joy of the music.” More details as we have them.
