Address Downtown restaurant ready to reopen already
A restaurant in the Address Downtown is ready to reopen just a month after the hotel caught fire on New Year’s Eve.
Em Sherif, a Lebanese restaurant in The Address Downtown Dubai, will open its doors again on Thursday February 4 and be fully operational. Go them!
“The restaurant hasn’t been damaged on any level and we look forward to welcoming back our guests as of Thursday evening,” Yasmine Attieh, who works for the brand, told Gulf Business.
The month-long closure was only a “small bump in the road” for the brand, they say.
The Address Downtown fire nearly gutted the luxury hotel, and broke out just hours before the New Year’s Eve fireworks. The Dubai Police have said it was caused by an electrical fault in a spotlight used to illuminate the hotel, and that it started at 9.25pm.

Em Sherif has two hats in the What’s On Black Hat Guide: considering you can only get three in total, and many restaurants have none, that’s very high praise indeed.
Here’s what we had to say about it in the Black Hat Guide:
“A stunningly-decorated restaurant right next to The Dubai Fountain: a set menu of 35 dishes for Dhs335 and pretty much all of them will have you purring. It’s a good place to take visitors.”

One thing to note is that Em Sherif is almost always full, so make sure to phone ahead and book a table if you plan on visiting.
