It looks like it might rain in Dubai this weekend
Everybody, bust out your best rain dance RIGHT NOW.
Could Dubai be about to experience its first showers for 2017?
It’s looking likely… Unsettled weather is expected to hit the UAE over the next few days, with cloudy skies and scattered rainfall over northern and eastern areas, and relative humidity increasing over coastal areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.
Here’s a cool graphic the NCMS has just posted… look at all of those juicy rain clouds!

A forecaster for the centre told What’s On Dubai it would be overcast in the city on Thursday, but on Friday and Saturday cloud would increase – as well as the chance of some spots of rain. But not huge downpours…
This morning, the centre also issued a warning for strong winds and rough seas, especially in the Sea of Oman. Moderate seas can be expected in the Arabian Gulf.
Rainfall is pretty rare in January, with an average of 10mm throughout the month.
However, you might recall around this time last year we welcomed in the new year with a healthy dose of drizzle. Sigh, such refreshing memories…
