UAE students can win a chance to experience zero gravity
Ever wondered what it feels like to be floating in space?
The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) has launched a nationwide search for 20 students to travel to the United States and experience zero gravity.
The competition is open to all students studying in the UAE, aged 16 and above.
To apply you’ll need to visit the MBRSC website and answer three questions: why you should be chosen? what experiment you’d like to conduct in zero gravity? and what excites you the most about experiencing zero gravity?
The 20 lucky candidates will be sent on an all-expenses-paid trip to the US to experience a parabolic flight aboard a Boeing 727. A parabolic flight simulates zero gravity conditions through a series of maneuvers, letting you experience up to 22 seconds of pure weightlessness.
It’s the same test used to prepare astronauts for space missions, so we reckon you’ll need a strong stomach to handle it.
The competition closes on Thursday, July 5, and winners will be chosen by the end of August.
