French food arrives in the Marina, a casual cafe comes to DIFC and a celebrity chef introduces a new menu…

From unique dining experiences, to wallet-friendly dinner deals perfect for pairs, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to dining out in Dubai.

And if you’re looking for somewhere fresh to head to this weekend, we’ve got you covered. Here are three restaurants on our radar (missed last week’s round-up? Check it out here).

The brand new: Le Frenchy

The latest in a string of character-led restaurants (although this fictional character is actually modeled on the owner) is Le Frenchy, a new French spot in the Marina Byblos hotel. The causal restaurant is covered in gimmicks – from Eiffel Tower shaped tables, moustache-bearing men adorning the walls and rugs and a strong colour palette of red, white and blue. The new eatery promises modern and traditional French dishes, served up to the Dubai market alongside daily happy hours, weekly ladies’ nights, and a Friday brunch which will all launch soon.

Le Frenchy, 1st floor, Marina Byblos Hotel, Dubai Marina, daily 5pm to 3am. Tel: 04 282 8944. Lefrenchydubai.com

The brand new: Refresh Delux Cafe

Keen to grab a bite to eat in the financial city? DIFC has just welcomed a new homegrown Mediterranean spot, which promises ‘light, simple, honest food’. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu is inspired by the owners Greek heritage, and influenced by a Mediterranean diet. On the menu, expect vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dishes, and don’t head down without trying the carrot cake – it’s a family recipe.

Refresh Delux Cafe, Marble Walk, DIFC, Sun to Thurs 7.30am to 9.30pm, Fri and Sat 8.30am to 5.30pm. Tel: (04) 7706698. refreshcafe.com

The new menu: Rhodes W1

Celebrity chef Gary Rhodes has curated a new Table D’Hôte menu at his Rhodes W1 restaurant, available through September. The three-course set menu will be rotated on a bi-weekly basis, and is an amuse bouche, followed by a choice of three starters, three mains and three deserts. Highlights include British-influenced dishes such as a thick potato and onion fritata layered with bake cheese, pan roasted cod with steamed potatoes and leeks, and a lemon and thyme chicken breast slow roasted and served with spicy aubergine. It’s served up against a backdrop of commercial hit music, and Dubai Marina views

Rhodes W1 Grosvenor House Tower A, daily 7pm to 11.30pm, Dhs195. Tel: (04) 317 6000. rw1-dubai.com
