London’s famed ‘King of Gyms’ lands in Dubai this week, as 1Rebel opens its doors inside DIFC’s ICD Brookfield Place, inviting fitness fans to get their sweat on across an 11,500 square foot space.The new 1Rebel Dubai has the same part fitness studio, part nightclub feel of its UK counterparts, and centres around two of their signature high-intensity workouts: Reshape and Ride. The brand is synonymous with pairing fast-paced workouts with LED strobe lights and epic playlists, so you can be assured of a full body workout in a fun-filled environment. Reshape will offer a mix of treadmill and weights, while Ride is 1Rebel’s twist on a spin class. The DIFC studio is also home to the brand’s first and only open gym floor, where you can lead your own workout using TechnoGym equipment, free-weights and the strength zone.

Celebrate Diwali with a tasty menu
Expect a multi-course dinner at modern Indian fine-dining restaurant, The Cinnamon Club. Try the prawn malai curry or paneer pesto tikka, alongside a selection of Indian bread that is perfect to soak up the last drops of flavours. To celebrate Diwali there will be an interactive chaat counter, where guests can learn about the different varieties of chaats.

Japanese restaurant and nightclub KOYO is spicing up your week with the launch of their new event, Red Room. Entry to the evening is Dhs250 for ladies and Dhs300 for gents. This is inclusive of two hours of free-flowing drinks (including sparkling) and two courses from the eclectic set menu from 8pm onwards. Throughout the night, guests will be transported to the sights, sounds, and energy of Tokyo with an exquisite multi-sensory dinner and a show. Daring performances including acrobatics, singers, and dancers will take to the stage for a night of pure pleasure.

Start the day the right way with SĀN Beach, the beautiful beach club on Palm West Beach hosts fitness classes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week. Among the must-try classes is Super SUP Fit with Sophie, which takes place from 8am to 9pm. Even if you’re new to SUP Fit, this is a fun workout where everyone is welcome, and during the 50-minute sup yoga session you’ll get to work on your stretching and flexibility while working on your tan. Get your culture fix at a new film festival
Meta Film Festival lands in Dubai this week, and organisers are promising an action-packed three-day global festival from October 27 to 29. Movie buffs can expect to see more than 70 films from 25 countries over the three-day festival, which will include international blockbusters, premieres, regional feature films, red carpets with stars and talent from the Arab World, Hollywood, Bollywood and Nollywood. The event is set to bring the latest blockbusters as well as independent, regional, and local productions. A lot of the screenings are free, but you’ll need to pre-register here.
