Seems like Dubai finally received the invite to the party…

Moderate to heavy rain has been hitting parts of Dubai and the Eastern Emirates all day today. According to the weather forecast for this week, cloudy and rainy weather was expected in the upcoming days, having persisted over the past weekend in the Eastern regions of the country.

Saturday afternoon, the 21st of October 2023, saw heavy rain with hail in some of the eastern emirates like Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, as well as Al Ain. Heavy rain also lashed the East of Al Ain and other parts of the city followed by heavier showers accompanied by hail and throughout the evening.

On Sunday, October 23, the rain returned, this time to many parts of Sharjah. Parts of Ras Al Khaimah were once again hit with rain and hail, and regions of the Al Watan Road passing through Hatta, and neighbouring Oman experienced similar weather conditions.

And now…

Dubai has finally had a taste of the first rains of the season, as light to heavy showers have been pouring in many parts of the city, including towards Sharjah and in Karama. Showers have also been persisting over parts of Umm Al Quwain and areas in Abu Dhabi like Yas Island, Al Mushrif, Al Hidayriyyat, Khalifa City and more.

The National Centre of Meteorology continues to issue several warnings on their social media handles, advising motorists to stay safe on the roads in affected areas. Drivers have been instructed to drive only when necessary, turn on low-beam headlights when visibility is reduced and keep up to date with the forecasts via official channels. They were also asked to stay away from areas of flash flooding and landslides in some of the Eastern and Northern regions heavily affected.
