The Dubai government has extended remote working for a further two days on Thursday April 18 and Friday April 19, Dubai Media Office announced via X.
The news comes after the country witnessed its heaviest rainfall on record on Tuesday, with torrential downpours resulting in road closures, flooding, and severe disruption to international travel.
The statement said that the move “facilitates the ongoing work of teams across the emirate” and applies to all government employees, except roles that require on-site presence.

Both public and private sector schools have already announced that they would continue distance learning for the rest of the week to protect students and the teaching staff.
