Dubai and Abu Dhabi named the world's prettiest cities at night
Two great accolades for the UAE…
The UAE has already received many accolades this year, and now, Travelbag has named Dubai the number 1 most picturesque city at night, with Abu Dhabi also securing a spot in the top 10.
Travelbag, the long-haul travel specialists’ study was based on posts on Instagram and it noted that Dubai had received nearly 26,000 posts with the tag ‘dubaiatnight’. The posts show the city’s unparalleled beauty post sunset when the multiple skyscrapers and towers brighten up the night sky. The capital also made an appearance on the list ranking at number 9.
Travelbag is a part of dnata – one of the world’s largest air and travel services providers. Its study also took into consideration light pollution and safety levels. As many as 146 cities were analysed for the study.

The study also shows that Dubai received a rating of 52.8 out of 100 for light and noise pollution, whereas Abu Dhabi rated 48.2 out of 100.
As for safety levels, Dubai rated 83.1 on a safety measure on 100, with Abu Dhabi rating a bit higher at 84.6 out of 100.
With regards to Dubai, it was named the cleanest and safest city in the world for the third year running by the Global Power City Index (GPCI) issued by Japan’s Mori Memorial Foundation. This incredible city has previously been named the third safest city for solo female travellers, the most popular destination in the world for 2022, and the safest place to walk alone at night, among many other accolades.
In a different study by Numbeo at the start of the year, Abu Dhabi sits at the top of the table for the world’s safest city for the sixth consecutive time. And this is out of 416 cities.
