People – it’s official. Winter is coming. Well, ‘winter’. Dubai winter.

Gone are the days of sweaty 50-metre walks to your car. You can kiss goodbye to a constant state of mild sunstroke. In fact, camping’s soon to be back on the books.

Dubai has two seasons – summer (scorchio) and winter (pleasant), and we’re almost out of the hot-months-woods.

HOW COLD ARE WE TALKING?

When October hits in a week-and-a-half, daytime temperatures are looking to drop from averages of the current mid-40s into the low 30s according to Accuweather.

The best part? Nighttime temperatures will fall as low as 20 degrees. 

According to the UAE’s National Centre for Seismology and Meteorology, the average temperature in September is 33.6 degrees Celsius, while the average temperature in October is 30 degrees. These averages are from records from 2003 to 2015 and they take into account night and day recordings.

Come November, daytime temperatures will be in the 20s, while nighttime will fall even lower, to a nippy 15 degrees.

As it stands, no rainfall has been predicted yet (queue sad trombone).

It’s been a pretty warm summer, we feel the city needs a little splash in order to inaugurate its cooler season.

We’re undoubtedly excited though. It’s nearly BBQ season again. Swimming pools feel less like giant baths, and an ocean dip will actually be refreshing again.

We saw some pretty sweaty peak temperatures this summer. In August, the heat, when combined with the relative humidity left us with temperatures that felt close to 70 degrees Celsius. 70 degrees Celsius. That’s actually insane.
